Personal Biography

Ms. Kaplan began her career working as a law clerk at a prominent law firm where her duties included assisting a partner with personal injury cases. After gaining experience in the discovery process, she was next of counsel to a firm concentrating on accident cases. She has been involved in significant cases such as those resulting in death, involving lead poisoning, and pertaining to medical malpractice. Injured clients have recovered millions of dollars as a result of her efforts.

Ms. Kaplan received her Juris Doctor (law degree) from Hofstra University Law School, at which time she was a student law clerk for the Honorable Vincent R. Balletta, Jr., Justice of the Appellate Division, Supreme Court of the State of New York. She also was a student law clerk for the Honorable Robert Roberto, Jr., Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. She received her undergraduate B.A. degree from at the State University of New York at Albany.

In addition to acting as counsel to the firm, Ms. Kaplan serves as an Arbitrator at the District Court, Nassau County, where she review legal briefs, conducts trials and renders decisions in connection with the Small Claims calendar.

Ms. Kaplan also acts as a Hearing Officer at the Supreme Court, Nassau County, where she conducts evidentiary hearings, mediates settlements and renders written decisions regarding real property small claims assessment review petitions.
